Since the smile design applied to change the shape, surface structure and color of the teeth is a treatment process, it may differ from person to person. Since the aesthetic needs of each patient may be different, the procedures to be performed are determined individually. After the treatment of decayed teeth and gum diseases that existed before the smile design, tooth cleaning procedures are applied. The procedures to be performed are determined according to the needs of the patient and include dental aesthetic interventions, treatment of missing teeth with implant and prosthesis applications, veneers, teeth whitening methods, porcelain laminates, zirconium coatings and orthodontic treatments.

How to Smile Design?

Models are prepared through the measurements taken from the patient’s mouth, problems are identified and necessary planning is made. Compatibility with the face shape is calculated by making measurements with special programs used in the computer environment on the patient’s oral and facial photographs. The most approximate images that will occur after the treatment are presented to the patient with programs and temporary restorations prepared in accordance with the original in the patient’s mouth, and their opinions are obtained.
After the completion of the planning, if there is no need for orthodontic treatment, first of all, level disorders in the gums are arranged. If there are missing teeth, implant procedures and other necessary surgical applications are performed. After the surgical procedures have healed, whitening is applied if needed. Formal and visual defects in the teeth are corrected with aesthetic composite fillings, if this method is not sufficient, porcelain laminates and veneers or zirconium veneers. Porcelain laminate applications are mostly carried out with no or minimal abrasions on the teeth. If porcelain or zirconium application is deemed necessary, some changes may be made by taking the patient’s ideas again during the rehearsals. During the gingival and dental applications and rehearsals, the lip shape and contour are taken into consideration and the final shape of the targeted design is given accordingly.
